Equinix
The challenge
Equinix is a major multi-site contract, covering thirteen separate locations in Slough, London and Manchester. The client is a high-tech data-centre business with a need to be fully operational 24/7. The quality of cleaning required is of the highest level, with all processes and performance levels fully compliant with the very specific ISO standard (ISO14644 – class 8). In short, there is no room for error in the standards being achieved.
All aspects of the service provision to Equinix were reviewed in 2018, when several major FM suppliers were invited to pitch for the entire UK wide Equinix contract.
The solution
After an extensive tender procedure, MAR Facilities Management was appointed as the exclusive UK wide cleaning contractor to Equinix. The contract was won after an extensive process, where MAR demonstrated its ability to deliver against 3 main objectives:
- To enhance and improve levels of professionalism
- To raise and consistently deliver overall cleaning standards
- To deliver optimum customer service levels to the client
Your staff represent your company very well and consistently work hard to ensure our building is looking pristine from a cleaning/housekeeping perspective.
We have introduced numerous best practice cleaning methods into all of Equinix’s sites including:
- Latest cleaning equipment and methods of working
- Specific training programmes for staff in the specialist cleaning methods required for data centres, to reach the required ISO standard
- A thorough set of SLAs and KPIs for each building, which in turn were amalgamated into an overall service performance contract
In addition to daily cleaning services, the contract also extends to washroom services, the supply of consumables, periodic deep cleans – including windows, carpets and blinds, indoor plants and grounds maintenance.
